Mr. Sudhanshu Chitale

Sudhanshu graduated from Shivaji University, India. He was awarded first position with Gold Medals in University rankings at MBBS (undergraduate) and MS (General Surgery: postgraduate). Sudhanshu worked as Senior Lecturer in General Surgery for two years leading on to super-specialisation in Urology for three years at the Bombay Hospital Institute of Postgraduate Education and Medical Research Center, affiliated to the University of Bombay, India.

Urology Training

Sudhanshu comprehensive training in Urology encompassed Core Urology with sub-specialty training in Paediatric Urology, Endourology, Uro-Oncology, Renal Transplantation, Urodynamics, Female Urology and Male Infertility.

He was awarded Diplomat of the National Board of Examinations in Urology (DNB: Urology) by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India.

Sudhanshu continued his training in Urology in the UK when he joined the NHS in 1992. He was awarded Diploma in Urology, London with Distinction. He completed the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS: England) in General Surgery and subsequently FRCS in Urology. He also obtained Fellowship of the European Board of Urology (FEBU). Towards pursuing his special interest in Andrology, he did a fellowship at the UCH, London.

Experience

To date, Sudhanshu has performed up to 20,000 Urological procedures. He developed specialist interest in the field of Andrology and Hypogonadism, which remain his areas of clinical research interest.

Sudhanshu was the lead investigator of the first ever Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT) for Shock wave therapy (SWT) in Peyronie's disease (PD).

Sudhanshu held Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of East Anglia (UEA) Medical School, Norwich and currently is Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University College London (UCL) Medical School.

Sudhanshu has over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals to his credit and numerous presentations both at national and international scientific meetings.

He is on the Reviewers' panel for 17 peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Endourology, Journal of Urology, World Journal of Urology, and BMJ Case Reports.
